Southwest Public Schools proudly announces that Ms. Ebonie Bugarin, an exceptional educator at Southwest Public Schools, has been recognized by State Board of Education Member Dr. Audrey Young as one of only six teachers in the state of Texas honored during Learning Disability Awareness Month.
Ms. Ebonie Bugarin teaches English at College and Career Preparatory Academy, and she was selected for her outstanding work in serving students with disabilities within the general education setting. Her innovative approach to instruction and commitment to inclusion have resulted in meaningful academic growth and success for students who learn differently. She is being recognized for providing effective interventions and personalized supports that help students with disabilities reach their highest potential.
“Ms. Bugarin represents the heart of what teaching is all about which is believing in every student’s ability to thrive,” said Dr. Felicia Adams, Superintendent of Southwest Public Schools. “Her dedication to inclusion, collaboration, and excellence truly reflects our district’s mission to ensure that all learners have access to success.”
To honor Ms. Bugarin and the other statewide honorees, the Texas Public Charter Schools Association will host a virtual recognition event on October 23, 2025. Southwest Public Schools congratulates Ms. Bugarin for this well-deserved honor and recognition of her impact on students with learning disabilities across Texas.
